The Long Point Biosphere Region, a UNESCO designated World Biosphere, promotes partnerships, projects, and community engagement that support biodiversity, conservation and sustainable community goals within Norfolk County.
The Long Point Biosphere is seeking a volunteer treasurer, with the option of being appointed as a Board Member, if desired. While experience in finance or accounting with an NGO is preferred, the board welcomes candidates with experience and agility working with accounting principles, financial statements, and budget development. ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Board consists of up to 15 Directors. Our current officers include President, Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. We are looking for people willing to commit to a 3-year minimum term. Key expectations of the Long Point Biosphere Board include:
- Know our bylaws
- Set strategic priorities
- Chair one committee; participate on one committee
- Oversee projects or programs
- Understand and oversee financials
- Collaborate with each other and the community
